This is one the best points made so far in the company and especially in the startup culture topic. There is no denying that positive and productive employees move your company into more profitable stage but the heavy bro culture, hipster-drinker culture etc. are also putting some productive employees especially from different backgrounds and religious systems into a stale or worse of it, annoyed-always mode.
I have previously got frustrated a lot of times not having inclusive events (halal or veggie options) and environments (pubs for meetings?) but now making this argument from ROI point of view looks to me the best constructive way…
Maybe there could be some new startups building some tools for us to capture the cost side of the things holistically such that we can argue on this when there is a heavy myth we would like to change in our work!
